Several staging divisions are used for testis cancer, including the AJCC, based on the TNM classification . The stage depends on whether the primary tumor involves the testis, epididymis, spermatic cord and scrotum, whether a single node of various sizes or multiple nodes are involved and whether there are distant metastases to other organs, the most common being the lungs or lymph nodes above the diaphragm.
